The old city of Mostar, in Southern Bosnia and Herzegovina is a must see destination for travelers. Mostar’s sad history still resonates deeply with many scars of conflict still visible today, which is contrasted with the vibrant and bustling restored Medieval Ottoman quarter at it’s heart. The old town of Mostar is home to eclectic markets and the beautiful stone alleyways are lined with restaurants and antique shops.
The deep emerald Neretva River flows through the quarter, which you can sit by and take in the serenity of the area or if you are brave you can take a tip in it’s icy waters. Looming over the river is the famous Stari Most (0ld bridge) which is certainly one of the highlights of the city.
