Ksamil is a little gem of a town on the riviera of Southern Albania. The turquoise waters are pristine and inviting and the sand is soft and white, making for a lovely resort holiday destination.
A little off the well trodden path, Ksamil felt quiet and authentic and the locals are very friendly and hospitable, excited to share the towns wonderful offerings.
Unfortunately Ksamil has seen some over development resulting in many unfinished apartments left abandoned spotted around the hills following an economic downturn which certainly spoils the village atmosphere but is something easily looked past.
Unesco world heritage site of Butrint is only 30 minutes away and is an absolute must see! It boasts plentiful Greek and Roman ruins, many of which are well preserved. It is also lush, with trees and shrubs creating shady canopies making it a very pleasant area to stroll around for the afternoon
