The summer resort island of Hvar is a wonderful place to relax and soak in the warm Croatian climate and laid back beach atmosphere.
This sweet little port town has a charming main square with Renaissance era buildings and a lovely cathedral at it’s centre. Winding stone alleyways snake up to the hilltop fortress overlooking the town and at the top you will have a fantastic view of Hvar which is most spectacular at sunset.
Hvar is home to some lovely beaches – where the water is clear, calm and very inviting so make sure to bring a towel and take a dip! Market stalls stay open late selling gifts, antiques and artwork if you would like to pick up some treasures or just have a browse.
Restaurants line the promenade with tables spilling out onto the streets so you can enjoy the ocean breeze with your wine and meal and take in the wonderful holiday atmosphere of Hvar.
